multiply the first equation by 2:-
2y  + 4.6 = 0.90x
2y - 0.90x = -4.6
second equation is
-2y - 4.2x = -7.8
Adding:-
-5.1x =  -12.4
x = 2.4

-2y =  -7.8 + 4.2(2.4)  =  2.3
x = -1.2

Answer  x = 2.4 and y = -1.2
