Archaeological evidence shows that Zimbabwe was once a very big trading trade state, forming a large trading network stretching as far as China. The Shona were able to attract various traders, mainly from Asia. They also participated in trade with the Swahili coast. The result of this trade was therefore the likely influence from various cultures hence the likely influence from different cultures.
