Photosynthesis is the process that is not included in heterotrophic nutrition. A heterotroph is any organism that needs organic surface in order to survive. This is quite the opposite with autotrophs, such as plants, algae and some bacteria, that can use energy from sunlight (photosynthesis). Heterotrophic nutrition refers to non photosynthetic organisms.
