Factor the polynomial: x^2–xy+x–xy^2+y^3–y^2

Write expression as
x^2–xy+x  –(xy^2-y^3+y^2)
Then take out common factors in each group
=x(x-y+1)    -y^2(x-y+1)
Take out the common factor (x-y+1)
=(x-y+1)(x-y^2)     voilà!
