This is a division problem.
Divide 2 3/5 by 1/8.
First, write 2 3/5 as an improper fraction.
Then divide the fractions.

(2 3/5) / (1/8) =

= (13/5) / (1/8)

= 13/5 * 8/1

= 104/5

= 20 4/5

There were 20 1/8-inch thick slices and one thinner slice at the end.

104/5 = x/8

5x = 832

X = 166.4
