The Battles of Lexington and Concord are often seen as the opening battles of the Revolution. The first pitched battle would be Bunker Hill. Some historians also argue that the Boston Massacre were the opening shots of the Revolution. Men like Crispus Attucks are often seen as the first casualties of the war.
