you can combine like terms:(3x and -7x)
-4x+15=-7
now, we subtract 15 from both sides:
-4x=-22
finally, we divide both sides by -4
x=5.5 or 5 1/2

3x+15−7x=−7

Simplify:

3x+15−7x=−7

3x+15+−7x=−7

(3x+−7x)+(15)=−7(Combine Like Terms)

−4x+15=−7

Subtract 15 from both sides.

−4x+15−15=−7−15

−4x=−22

Divide both sides by -4.

−4x/−4=−22/−4

x=11/2
