They do not have lungs.
They can lay up to 250 eggs a day (one at a time YIKES!)
They are poisonous (to vertebrates)
Some interesting facts about monarch butterflies is that they;
-monarch butterflies do not have lungs
-they have a 10 cm windspan and waigh about o.25 to 0.75 grams
-monarch butterflies store a poison called cardiac glycosides 
-depending on the temperature in the summer, the caterpiller stage continues for another 9-14 days
