This is an equation that needs to be balanced to solve for x.
-39 -3x = 57 + 5x
Add 3x to each side to get x on one side.
-39 = 57 + 8x
Subtract 57 from both sides to get 8x by itself.
(Remember when subtracting a negative by a negative, those numbers combine)
-96 = 8x
Divide by 8 to get x.
x = -12
