Simplify this equation 8x/16(x+y)

So first let's put this in a more realistic look:
    8x
-----------
16x(x+y)

You'd get after you multiplied the bottom:

     8x
-----------
16x² +16xy

Cancel out the Xs

      8
------------
16x + 16y

Divide both 16s by 8

Your answer:

[tex] \frac{1}{2x + 2y} [/tex]

^ First time I've used that.
