The greenhouse effect is when the Sun's light is trapped into the lower atmosphere, heating up the planet. Carbon dioxide, or co2 makes up the majority of greenhouse gas emissions. Smaller amounts of methane(ch4), and nitrous oxide(n20) are also emitted. These gases are mainly emitted through the continuous use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
