The paperweight is shaped like a square pyramid. The volume of the pyramid is 48 in. If the area of the base is 36 in?, what is the height of the pyramid?​

Given:

Volume of a square base pyramid = 48 cubic inches.

Area of base = 36 sq. inches.

To find:

The height of the pyramid.

Solution:

Volume of a pyramid is

[tex]V=\dfrac{1}{3}Bh[/tex]

Where, B is the base area and h is the height of the pyramid.

Putting V=48 and B=36, we get

[tex]48=\dfrac{1}{3}(36)h[/tex]

[tex]48=12h[/tex]

[tex]\dfrac{48}{12}=h[/tex]

[tex]4=h[/tex]

Therefore, the height of the pyramid is 4 inches.
