the slope m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m=(8-4)/(5-1)
m=4/4=1
now let s solve the constant b
y=x+b
8=5+b
8-5=b
3=b
now we know the slope m=1 and the constant b=3

let s write the equation is
