One of the main reasons why US joined World War II is because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Originally the US was debating whether or not to get involved in another European war but when Pearl Harbor was bombed, it was their breaking point. They originally only declared war on Japan but because Japan was an axis powers, they were declaring war on Japan and Germany and Italy.
