I need help with this problem from the student journal book, Math I . I dont know how to answer this.

Answer:

x = c + 7 and x = c - 7

Step-by-step explanation:

|x-7|=c can be broken into two separate parts, as follows:

Part 1:  x - 7 = c, or x = c + 7

Part 2:  -(x - 7) = c is equivalent to -x + 7 = c, or x = c - 7

Note that in Part 1 we simply drop the absolute value symbol   |   |.

On the other hand, in Part 2 we enclose x - 7 inside parentheses and then write a - sign in front of this result.
