Matthew is a follower of conflict theory.
Conflict theory was first put forward by Karl Marx. The theories sets forth the idea that there are limited resources in this world and we are all merely fighting for control of the resources. Matthew's belief that law enforcement is acting as the muscle for the interests of the dominant class are aligned with the beliefs of followers of conflict theory.
