The Deuteromycota, also called imperfect fungi, are the fungi that do not fit into the usually developed taxonomic categories of fungi, which are based on the morphological features of sexual compositions or biological species concept.

These fungi do not fit into other classes, they reproduce asexually, and many are parasitic. These fungi have some application in the manufacturing of cheese, penicillin, and soy sauce.
