1. For what two main reasons was the Getty Museum kouros initially considered "extraordinary"?

Initially the Kouros was considered extraordinary because of the way it was made and the sheer size of the sculpture itself. There have been some arguments and very heated debates between historians as to whether or not the Kouros is a genuine piece of sculpted art or a fake.
