Solve
[tex]6 = 0[/tex]
Solve
[tex]k + 2 = 0[/tex]
Subtract 2 from both
[tex]k = - 2[/tex]

20 - 6 + 4k = 2 - 2k

    14   + 4k = 2 - 2k    added like terms (20 and -6)

           +2k        +2k

     14 + 6k  =  2

    -14           -14

             6k = -12

             [tex]\frac{6k}{6} = \frac{-12}{6}[/tex]

               k = -2

Answer: k = -2
